Hey there —I'm Lori! Josie + Nina authentic Italian recipes that work for home cooks who love to gather their people.
Hi there, Reader, I don't mean this to sound like whining because I'd much rather it be hot than 🥶 but darn, it's hot! Between not wanting to turn on the stove and lettuce not winning in the produce aisle righ now, coming up with a dinner idea is a challenge. A big pan of garlicky oil tossed with spaghetti is a darn good answer. It's ready in 10 minutes and it tastes good cold. Either way, with lots of parmesan. Without a salad, it stands to reason that I can have some form of ice cream for...
RECIPES WATCH SHOP FB Hi there, Reader! We are on a wedding countdown over here. Our oldest daughter gets married next month and we couldn't be more excited! If you follow me over on FB and IG (if you don't consider this your invite), you might have seen the first wedding content. And more is coming (hint: "registry"). That being said, I need an easy menu for the week: at the table. If you haven't seen this new chicken thigh recipe, bookmark this one. Might need some garlic bread to dip into...
Hi Reader, Well, this week got away from me...dreamt big cooking dreams most of which didn't happen and I'm choosing to chalk up to "summer". At least that's what I'm telling myself. We actually cooked a lot...just not all the things I planned... I made a big pan of my lemon ricotta pasta and wondered why I didn't make it more often. published my brand new chicken cannelloni recipe with 2 easy sauces including this simple red one. sauteed some chicken and veggies and tossed them with this...
RECIPES WATCH SHOP FB Hi there, Reader! 250 years! That's a big birthday, right? We spent it as a family with some of us golfing, all of us fighting to hold the baby and enjoying some food to honor our nation's birthday. Oh and of course, rain. We have had so much rain this summer, or at least it feels that way. And most of it hasn't been gentle, sit-on-the-porch, rain but big, showy storms with lots of flash. So most of the fireworks around us were cancelled but we made a day of it with...
WHAT'S NEW SHOP WATCH IG Hey there, Reader, Nobody needs another burger at the cookout. What they need is something that travels well, doesn't need to be reheated, and makes the host wonder how you had time. These three are what I love to bring. They hold up in a cooler and none of them touch a grill (which is fine with me given our current 90°+ heat wave). Olive oil Italian tuna salad with capers: the one nobody expects and everybody finishes. Good Italian tuna packed in olive oil, capers,...
Hi Reader, I'm spending some time at the beach 🏖️ this week and the last thing I want to think about is cooking. This is exactly why I make a batch of roasted garlic cannellini dip before trips like this. It goes straight from the food processor into a container, rides in the cooler bag, and shows up looking like I tried. No reheating, no stove, no plan required. Crackers, cut veggies, torn bread, whatever's around. It disappears fast and nobody ever asks what's in it, they just ask for more....
RECIPES WATCH SHOP FB Hi there, Reader! This past week I cooked for 25 women at my daughter's bachelorette, then spent an entire day doing nothing but holding a baby. Not sure it gets any better than that. We ordered NYC-style pizza with garlic knots one night and they were so good I couldn't stop thinking about them. (I just sent out my own garlic knot recipe last week — if you missed it, hit reply and I'll send it straight to you.) Now I'm back in the kitchen and fully in farmers market...
