It's not about the coffee

Hi there Reader!

Most Sunday mornings, I am part of the donut crew at church. Each Sunday morning, I get to church about an hour before mass to help make coffee, meet our beloved "donut guy", and set up for the masses ahead.

We have a very persnickety industrial coffee machine, and every week it hands us a new problem. Will it brew a full pot? Will there be grounds at the bottom of the cups? Will the coffee be hot? The amount of conversation about this borders on obsessive.

I haven't cracked that machine. I have cracked my recipes. I test and re-test because I don't want you to have to wonder if it's going to work.

The first cool nights are here, so here are a few of my fall favorites.

Chicago-style

If you have always wanted to make Chicago Italian beef at home, this is your chance. Make a quick batch of giardiniera too! Amazing on eggs.

at the table.

This one is good for breakfast, Sunday brunch or a light lunch with friends. Talk about a slice of fall!

dip-worthy

I tested and refined this recipe so many times until I got it just right. The perfect fall dunk in a hot cup of coffee.

p.s. If you love coffee too, here is the one we use at church (and I use at home) is fresh roasted locally. Crazy Tony's blend is my fav of theirs 😊 (not an affiliate link - just wanted to share)

Wishing you pumpkin patch days and fireplace nights!
