This is Sunday

Hey there Reader!

Growing up, Sunday meant a big plate filled with pasta (many times rigatoni, my dad's favorite) topped with my mom's red sauce. And piles of fresh grated parmesan.

Not too long ago, I experimented with tomato sauce slow roasted in the oven the way my gram did with a couple of pork chops tucked in. As I write this, my mouth is watering... it's that good.

Skip turning on the oven and in 45 minutes, you'll have my family's favorite red sauce. This is one my kids now make themselves and put on literally everything...plus it only has 3 ingredients (without s &p ๐Ÿ˜Š)!


IN THE KITCHEN


On a flight, I was able to finally sit down and watch Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy. The Tuscany episode was especially emotional as I spent a lot of time there during college and many years later with my dad and mom. If you haven't watched it, take an hour to dream about pici pasta, Chianti wine, and some of the best ice cream you'll eat in your life (and this amaretto ice cream dessert is the easiest one you'll ever make
